Course Calendars

Seasonal Opening and Closing Windows
Our courses operate within Ontario’s traditional golf season. Depending on weather and course conditions, we open as early as mid‑April and remain open until late October or early November. Each spring we wait for the frost to fully leave the ground and for fairways to dry enough to handle play without damage. In autumn we stay open as long as daylight and temperatures allow, often closing the week before mid‑November.
We announce exact opening and closing dates about two weeks ahead of time on our website and social channels. If you are planning early‑season or late‑season rounds, we recommend checking that page before heading out. Tee times for the first and last weeks of the season may be limited to specific course sections while we protect sensitive areas.
Aeration and Overseeding Schedules
To keep greens firm, true and healthy, we aerate each course twice a year—once in the spring (typically late April or early May) and once in the late summer or early fall (August through September). During aeration we punch small cores or use solid tines in the greens, then topdress and water. The process usually takes two to three days per course, and we stagger the work so at least one of our courses remains fully open.
Overseeding is done in late August and early September, primarily on fairways and tees. We apply a winter‑hardy ryegrass blend to thicken the turf and improve playability through the fall. Overseeding may cause temporary graininess on approaches, but the turf recovers within about two weeks. We post exact dates and closures on each course’s calendar page at least three weeks in advance.
League Nights and Tournament Blocks
Several of our courses host weekly leagues on specific evenings from mid‑May through August. League play typically occupies the course from 4:00 pm until dusk on those nights. If you prefer a quieter round, we suggest booking morning or early‑afternoon tee times on league days. The current league schedule is:
- Monday – Ladies’ Night (course A) and Men’s Night (course B)
- Tuesday – Mixed League (course C) and Junior Night (course A)
- Wednesday – Men’s Night (course A) and Couples League (course B)
- Thursday – Ladies’ Night (course B) and Senior Men’s League (course C)
- Friday – Twilight League (rotates among courses)
Tournament blocks—corporate outings, charity events and member competitions—take place on select mornings or afternoons from May through September. We reserve specific blocks of tee times for these events, usually starting before 10:00 am or after 2:00 pm. During those blocks the affected course may be closed to general public play for two to four hours. Our online calendar shows each tournament block clearly, so you can plan your round around them.
Frost Delays and Weather Policies
Frost is common during early‑spring and late‑fall mornings. When the temperature drops below freezing overnight, ice crystals form on the turf. Walking or riding on frosted grass can damage the plant, leaving brown footprints that take weeks to heal. Whenever frost is present, we delay the first tee time until the ground has thawed completely. Delays can range from 30 minutes to two hours, depending on the sun and temperature.
We announce frost delays by updating our website and answering machine message daily at 7:00 am. If you have an early tee time during the shoulder seasons, please call ahead or check the site before leaving home. During the delay we ask that you wait in the clubhouse or practice area—do not walk onto the course until we give the all‑clear. Once the frost lifts, we roll tee times forward in half‑hour increments as needed.
Afternoon thunderstorms can also interrupt play. If lightning is within 10 km of the course, we sound the air horn and ask everyone to return to the clubhouse or shelter. Play resumes 30 minutes after the last lightning strike is detected. We do not issue rain checks for weather delays, but we do track the delay time and adjust our pro shop policies accordingly.
