Junior Leagues

Junior Leagues

Junior leagues are the heart of our golf community for young players. Running weekly through the season, these leagues give juniors a chance to play, learn, and make friends in a relaxed, supportive setting. We focus on fun and growth, not pressure. Every week, your junior player will step onto the course with a clear plan and a welcoming group of peers.

Weekly League Formats

We use a mix of formats to keep things fresh and inclusive. For beginners and younger juniors, we run a team scramble. In a scramble, each player hits a shot, then the team chooses the best one and everyone plays from there. This keeps the pace steady and lets every member contribute without the pressure of counting every stroke.

As juniors gain experience, we introduce modified stableford scoring. Points are awarded based on how you score relative to par—one point for a bogey, two for a par, three for a birdie, and so on. This format encourages aggressive, smart play because even a bad hole doesn’t wreck your day. More advanced groups sometimes play alternate shot or best‑ball matches, always with an emphasis on teamwork and strategy.

We rotate formats every few weeks so everyone gets a taste of different ways to enjoy the game. No two league nights are exactly the same, which keeps the excitement high.

How Scoring Works for Beginners

New junior players often worry about keeping score. We make it simple and stress‑free. In our junior league, scoring isn’t about comparing yourself to others—it’s about tracking your own improvement. Each week, you record your score for the holes you complete. We adjust scores using a basic handicap system so that players of all levels compete on a fair footing.

For the youngest players, we often use a “fun points” system. You earn points for positive actions: hitting the ball in the air, helping a teammate, or finishing a hole without giving up. This builds confidence and keeps the focus on effort, not numbers. As skills grow, we transition to traditional stroke or stableford scoring, always with a coach on hand to explain how it works.

The key message: no one gets left behind. We meet each junior where they are and celebrate every small win.

Team Play and Camaraderie

Junior league is built around teams. At the start of the season, we assign players to small squads that stay together for several weeks. Teams switch up periodically so everyone gets to play with different partners. This teaches adaptability and builds a strong sense of belonging.

During matches, teammates encourage one another, help find lost balls, and share tips. We also include short post‑round activities—like a putting challenge or a trivia quiz about golf rules—to reinforce what they learned. The result is a fun, social atmosphere where friendships grow naturally.

Team play also introduces juniors to essential etiquette: shaking hands before and after a match, congratulating a good shot, and respecting opponents. These lessons stick long after the round ends.

Beyond the Swing: Life Skills on the Course

Golf teaches far more than technique. In junior league, players develop patience as they wait for their turn and handle a bad bounce. They learn honesty by calling penalties on themselves. They build resilience when a tough hole doesn’t discourage them from trying again on the next tee.

  • Integrity: playing by the rules even when no one is watching
  • Respect: for the course, for other players, and for the game
  • Focus: blocking out distractions and staying in the moment
  • Time management: arriving prepared and keeping pace on the course
  • Communication: working with teammates and asking for help

These skills transfer directly to school, sports, and everyday life. Our junior league is designed so that every child leaves not just a better golfer, but a more confident, considerate person. We welcome all skill levels—from complete beginners to experienced young players—and adapt each session to the group in front of us.
