Adult League Golf at Our Courses
League golf is a great way to enjoy the game regularly while meeting other players. We offer adult leagues at each of our courses, designed to fit a range of schedules and skill levels. Whether you are new to league play or a seasoned competitor, our leagues focus on fair competition and a relaxed atmosphere. You do not need a partner to join — we can help place you in a group that suits your game. Each league runs for a set number of weeks, with a season finale that gives everyone something to aim for.
Formats That Keep It Fresh
We rotate through several popular formats to keep each week interesting. Most leagues use a combination of the following:
- Individual net — you play your own ball and apply your handicap to your gross score. The player with the lowest net score wins that night.
- Two-person team — you and a partner combine your net scores or use the better ball on each hole. Formats include best ball, alternate shot, and aggregate scoring.
- Scramble — both team members tee off, then choose the best shot and both play from that spot until the hole is finished. This format emphasizes teamwork and keeps play moving quickly.
Each format is explained at the start of the season, and you will have a chance to practice it before it counts. We also vary the number of players per group to keep the pace comfortable. No prior experience with a specific format is required — we set it up so you can learn as you go.
How Handicaps Level the Playing Field
Handicaps are the key to fair competition in any league. Every player in our adult leagues must maintain an official handicap through the Golf Canada system. If you do not already have one, we can help you get started with a few rounds. Your handicap adjusts your gross score to a net score, so a beginner can compete directly with a more experienced golfer. For formats like scrambles, we apply a team handicap that keeps the advantage equal. You do not need to track anything yourself — we calculate net scores and standings after each round and post them online. This system means you can focus on playing your game without worrying about who is the strongest player in the group.
Weeknight Scheduling and the Season
Adult league play runs on weeknights from early May through August, with a typic weeks. Tee times start between 5:00 and 6:00 pm, depending on daylight and course availability. You will play the same night each week, so you can build a routine around work and family. We schedule a mix of formats across the season, and the standings are updated after each round. The season ends with a finals night that includes prizes for the top teams and individuals. You can register as an individual or as a pre-formed team. If you register alone, we will pair you with others of a similar handicap level. League fees cover green fees and prize pool contributions — no extra charges for scoring or administration. Spots fill quickly each spring, so we recommend signing up early to secure your preferred night and course.
